Wasteful as ever. Nothing leant from last season or indeed Monday. When you get your chance you bury it. Until then we are wasting ours and everyone elses time.

Roll on the end of the season. Zenit will pick us off at will on the counter at Anfield now that we somehow managed to not get an away goal.

I have always backed Brendan to the hilt but I would really like this full quote because no performance is near perfect when you lose 2-0

We'd have a chance if the atmosphere at Anfield was anything like it can be, but it won't be. It will be sh*t again.

going out the spend some time with the little lady now... but wanted to post this before i left

I am sick and tired of the BR excuses and the players saying they need to improve in interviews between the games.  its all fluff now.  I'm going to guess BR is going to say that we deserved more... that we had chances.. that we showed fight...

BR i like what you have implemented in lfc so far... but you have to grow yourself... stop saying you will get a reaction from the players and actually do it.  today is yet another reason why we have alot of work to do before we can challenge for top 4

YNWA ...our players and manager should revisit the meaning of this.  Dig deep, never give up and play with your heart!

Would remind you that what BR says after a match is pretty much what Kenny would say after a match which is pretty much what all managers say after a  match when a microphone is shoved in the face 10 minutes after the match.

Plain and simple , we messed up, missed sturridge ,missed chances but were not out of it.
Time to regain some form and start playing better.

Is that really what he said?

If so, someone please get him some meds. The man must have a head injury.

Im going to be controversial and blame Luis for the loss. If he had not been showboating and trying to flick in the open goal he missed  we would not have lost.

I have a hard time believing KK would have characterized that as a near perfect away performance.

How we didn't get an away goal, I'll never know. We needed one really to have any real chance of going through, can't see us pulling this back. Season over by mid-February... thoroughly depressed right now, can't see us going anywhere and what's more, the plans in place to take us there, may aswell have been drawn up by a teenager doodling in lesson time, just sick of it all.

He said something on the lines of " after the first ten minutes in which we let them get in behind our midfield we gave a near perfect away performance".

Did he really said that? I'm shocked. If he had said something like ..... our performance could be better or we did not play well enough and I'd have given him better respect.

Just had texts from 2 of my brothers who are season ticket holders, both saying much the same, if they knew we were writing this season off they'd have saved their money.
One of them was made redundant 3 months ago, and is really struggling, the football is his escape. It makes me sick to see the lack of effort by some players and the manager who thinks playing good football is OK even when we get beat.
How anyone can describe this as progress is beyond me.

Sorry to hear about your brothers , i hope things start to improve. I have a spare kidney to sell if a season ticket is going though

Bill Shankly once said we battered Ajax after they beat us 5 nil! Managers always say things that aren't quite true  :D

I posted during the game, just before they scored  :-\ that had we gone to Russia 30 years ago and been as comfortable as we were to that point tonight we'd be saying "good solid away performance in Europe" with Anfield to come. They score a peach, we panic, they get a second, fans on here wilt. Seems to be part of the club ethos at the minute drop the head, panic and blame.

I cant wait for next Thursday now. Im expecting a backlash and a win

      Last 5 Games Goals conceded:
      2-3-2-2-2

      Pure sh*te.

      F***ing embarrassment that.

If this was a regular Liverpool (during the Rafa days or Kenny days when we were solid at the back) I'd be quietly confident of turning this around but with the way we're defending right now they'll almost certainly grab an away goal and kill this tie off.

To be fair Brian, different times and different teams. This team has shown the ability to batter some teams and then become invisible against others so I think more than anything it's people fearing which team will show up. Used to be coming to Anfield was a no-go for opposing teams.....lately though we don't seem to have the fortress effect anymore.

I've a ticket for next week's return leg up for grabs.  I'm not losing a days pay to watch this shower.  Sad I know but how I feel at the moment.  I'll offer it to a lad at work first and if he can't go I'll put it in the relevant section on this forum.
