Just shows what a job Jürgen has done with the players brought in. What money was made available was in the main spent well. But players were attracted by, and bought into the vision, the brand of football.
No pressure on Jürgen to leave in my book, from reasonable fans. It's one thing questioning some of his decisions, which is fine, everyone has opinions, and the boss is going through a tough period - but at the end of the day, how can you not back this man after what he has done since he arrived.
FSG had their model, their plan to increase the sale of their asset, prudent investment into the playing squad, relying a fair bit on sell to buy, bricks and mortar updates to infra which is obviously good for the club. - but also very good for the owners. Particularly in recent years, the squad has gradually stagnated, aged, with less sell to buy income, having put up huge miles on the clock.
Jürgen has pointed out the lack of investment in his comments, without coming out and directly critizing the owners. He doesn't really complain about his lot, and rather than focus on the negatives, prefers to be positive and just get on with it. He not a Maureen who likes to play games and use the press, and maybe he suffers a little bit personally because of that, where he could maybe try to shift the focus elsewhere - he just takes results on board, doesn't call out players or owners or anyone else really in public, keeps things in the changing room. Hard not to respect the guy.
As usual, it'll only be after he goes, that some people might take the time to reflect on how well he has actually done.
