It was the worst ref performance in the CL I've seen this season, at least involving us. He didn't fall for their histrionics but he let them get away with so much. They were wrestling us all over the pitch. And blowing up for the end of the first half when Mo was away with seconds on the timer was just inexplicable.

Ref had a few dodge moments.

Eh 🤷‍♂️ He was very good , allowed the game to flow and ignored all their histrionics

That’s how the game should be controlled

On reflection I actually agree with this. It was an intense game but never descended into dangerous tackles. Don't think a single player received a yellow which was great. There were a couple of fouls given that were bizarrely given but thankfully they were sporadic. Did well overall

True, there were no dangerous tackles, but Inter were abusing the rules from minute 1 to 90 and the ref allowed it. They made it incredibly physical, it was the only way they had to control us. The man in black couldn't decide if he was officiating football or rugby. Even the bullshit decision to blow up the end of the first half with seconds on the clock when Salah was away and through on goal was a deliberate ignoring of the defender's fouling to slow him down. This used to be called " professional foul" yet it happens all the time now without punishment. It punishes talented players.

that's twice in a row we have watched different games now!

"He was very good" what the F**k??  He was in love with Vidal? Where was the red for his 2 feet up challenge? Where was a single yellow card for him? They should have finished with 10 men for sure and the HT whistle, are you kidding me?..Mo on his way, seconds left, knew we were on and blew his whistle. Did you not see Mo's reaction??

Yea roll on big man we were a few decisive touches away at the start of second half from going behind multiple times. Changing out an entire midfield in one substitution is testament to that from Klopp who is never trigger happy when it comes to making subs.

Should have said we were poor for most of the game but got the first goal from a set piece at the right time and Inter couldn’t keep up with the intensity after it. No point pretending we played champagne football I am being level headed with my red tinted glasses off, chuffed with the win.

Yes, thunk 53 47 our favour in possession and we had a few extra shots, they had none on target

Apparently we owe everyone an apology for having a better bench and the 5 sub rule being used really well by us

They hit the crossbar. How didn’t they have a shot on target?

Because hitting the woodwork is missing the target...

      i love that Firmino scored.

Im sick of this online trend of making a player a scapegoat and trashing them non stop. I see people from other toxic teams do it and i hate when I see liverpool fans do it. Lately its been Firmino and Henderson, soon it will be someone else.

Its great to remember that these guys essentially play football nonstop all year. They travels non stop, play through injuries, etc. They are humans. They will have lulls in form. But their class will be proven over the long term.

Posts and crossbar is classed as off target, because it Doesn’t go in if it hits them flush

Just caught the highlights and it seems that their chances were just as many and dangerous as ours (only that we tucked two of them away).

Was it a fairly even game then?

      They are Inter not Shrewsbury.

We were spot on in everything.

Konate and VVD were brilliant. Henderson was immense, showed what passion and determination he has.

Very good foundation for next leg.

Hitting the frame of the goal and the keeper is on target in my book.

Amazing game. What European nights are all about.

Prior to the subs I would have gladly taken a 0-0, as it was such a open fast paced game that Inter looked like
they might catch Liverpool on the break. Was that as a consequence of not starting Henderson? Who knows.

The subs changed the game. Where before the attacks seemed to grind to a halt against a staunch Inter defence,
the introduction of Diaz seemed to open them up a bit more, and Henderson/Keita made the midfield more controlled.

A very "Professional" performance, that seemed like a throwback to peak 2007/2008 era Liverpool.

What two foot tackle ? And none of his tackles where yellow card worthy

And if his watch alarms for time then they blow

He was a good ref , let the game flow

I know hitting the crossbar doesn't count as a shot on target but boy does it feel like a massive let off when that created chance bounces away to safety.

Tough match and felt that for the majority of the match, they pressed & beat the press better than we did, but they didn't threaten too much as I thought VVD & Konate were both very good and this was one of our best defensive performances this season.

Think that match was the wrong one to pick Elliott (bit too early for him), but a brave, positive move by Klopp & shows the trust he has in the youngster.

Thing I liked the most were the substitutions; we had fantastic options on the bench (the benefit of a fully fit squad) and all 4 subs made an impact.  Bobby with great movement & a superb header for the killer goal, Hendo & Keita were both boss in the middle & Diaz looked so lively & dangerous and should have scored.

Tie over and we can look forward to the QF; the only negative being Jota's injury.  Hope he's back soon, but with Mane, Salah, Bobby, Diaz & maybe Harvey at at a push, as options up top, it's all good.

6 months into the season, played 37/38 (not checked) games and we've only lost 2 of them.
2nd in the league (strong outsiders, but still in with a chance if we keep winning), final of the League cup, still in the FA Cup & heading to the quarters of the CL.

What's not to like??!!! Plus I'm in the Kop with my son (his first time in the Kop) on Saturday so life is good  8)

Good win away, against a very decent Inter Milan. Bobby & Mo taking their goals well, giving the Reds a 2  0 away victory. Shame about Jota's injury, hope he makes a speedy recovery.
