An Apology and A Thank You To Martin Broughton
      Oct 06, 2010 12:10:10 pm
I for one was uncertain about Martin

I had no doubt he would get the job done, but at stages I felt he may be acting in the interests of the owners

I for one would like to apologise for this and I express my sincerest thanks for fighting the good fight for us LFC fans (despite being a Chelsea Scumbag  )

He's pretty much admitted that he was working in the interest of H&G by trying to find buyers that would make them happy too. Fortunately, his main priority was finding the best buyers for the club and when he realised that there were no bidders who could satisfy both objectives, he chose to screw the owners.
      Good man.

For fck sake guys, hold your horses would you! It is still too early to thank anyone. We have yet to see how the new owners will run the club and stuff. Remember how foolish some fans looked on those videos just after the H&G takeover, thank them and stuff? I hope this does not happen again and the new owners are better, still they have to prove this.

There was a financial expert on there says it is, of course it F***ing is, John Henry was worth £540 million in 2006 before the crash so unless by some miracle he is worth more now it is a bank loan so it is leveraged, would you've started up this up when Moores and Parry sold to Hicks and Gillette.

You've already been told that he is the head of a sixteen man consortium - New England Sports Ventures.

How do we know this is the right bid for us at the moment? Broughton would say it is the perfect bid. He's not going to say "I am delighted to announce we have accepted a terrible bid which will see no transfer money available nor any plans for stadium development".

Lets f**king wait and see before lauding the bloke who has, in all honesty, been a bit of a tit since he arrived here.

As I said would you've started this thread up when Hicks and Gillette took over thanking Moores. We were told then they were worth billions was going to be a new stadium and loads of money new players. To start this thread is way way to early.

And I'll wait until the new owners prove they are the right owners before making out Martin Broughton is some sort of saint.

I'm confident Broughton wouldn't have put this deal through and fu**ed off hicks and gillett unless it was for the only other motive for selling the club and that is it was in the club's best interests. So yes thanks to Broughton for doing what he feels is best for the club. If it turns out in the future that he's been conned by these people I think it will be a case of the conmen were better at conning than the businessman was at business. Looking at broughton's record though, I think that's unlikely!

But the charge against him wasn't that he would bring in bad owners it was that he was a puppet of H&G installed simply to buy them time and favor with the banks - that charge was false
