With us havin so many players out on loan, thought we should have somethin where we can discuss how they're gettin on (obviously for later on in the season)
So far our loan outs are:
1) Paul Anderson (Notts Forest - Championship)
2) Adam Hammill (Blackpool - Championship)
3) Jack Hobbs (Leicester - League 1)
4) Robbie Threlfall (Hereford - League 1)
5) Godwin Antwi (Tranmere - League 1)
(don't think I've missed any)
I was a bit disappointed to see Anderson out on loan again because I really thought he could make his way into the first team this year. He's got bags of talent, even got voted Swansea's Player Of The Year last season, and I have high hopes for him down the right wing. He could save us spendin in excess of 15 million on a right winger, but he can only do that by playin for Liverpool. But he's at the City Ground this year, step up from last season, and I think we'll see him perform just as well. Live Championship games are shown more on the telly as well as granada's (itv) highlights so they'll be more chance to see him in action for those who don't really follow the lower leagues, and with Forest bein one of the biggest names in the Championshi, they're likely to be live on quite a few occassions.
Hammill looks like another with a bright future. Thought he ran the Dunfirmline side when he played up there. I think he'll be happier to get a move to a side in the north west, he's been up in Scotland and down on the south coast, so a side nearer his family and friends may suit him better. Especially if he's a homely type of person. Blackpool are likely to struggle again this season in the Championship so I think it could be another test of Hammill's charachter. He had a failed relegation battle with Dunfermline when he was on loan there, he had a successful battle against relegation last year with Southampton, so he'll be used to it by now. I think Blackpool will be a good move for Hammill providing he can stay injury free this time because they like to use their wingers a lot, so Hammill should see plenty of the ball.
Hobbs should be pushin Sami Hyypia for the fourth choice central defender very soon so goin out on loan again will provide him with great experince. Leicester may not be a great choice as their chairman Mandaric sacks managers more often than people change their socks (figure of speech not to be taken literally but he has sacked 5 managers in his 2 years as Leicester chairman so you get the general gist) So just because the current Foxes manager Nigel Pearson wants Hobbs doesn't mean in 3 months when there's a new manager that Hobbs will still be wanted at The Walkers Stadium. But this is the first time in Leicester's history they've been in the 3rd tier of English football so the entire club will be pushin hard to get out of that division, which will install a winnin mentality into Hobbs on his return to Anfield.
Threllfall, despite me hopin he'd do well because we went to the same school (he was two years above me) I don't think he's got much chance of breakin into the first team at Anfield, so this may just be another chance to put him in the shop window. With Dossenna and Insua as the guarenteed first and second choice left back I think Robbie will be on a permanant move before too long. He's another with a lot of talent and knows how to score for a left back which is always helpful. Very confident goin forward and knows how to defend properly. Hereford who only came up this year may struggle but with Robbie at the back they'll have some chance of stayin up. He spent some time on loan there last year so another season could do him the world of good.
Antwi movin to Prenton Park with Ronnie Moores and Tranmere is another good move for Antwi himself but also for Liverpool. Tranmere will be predicted to challenge for the play offs again this year after the way they performed last year where they led League 1 for a period of time and that added pressure will show us if he can handle it. Tranmere's defence has got a lot of experince in it with the likes of Shane Sheriff (Australia U-23 international might be goin the Olympics) Robbie Stockdale (former Middlesborough defender in the Prem) and Danny Coyne in goal (30 odd year old Welsh international keeper), with that beside him they'll be able to teach and guide Godwin through his paces at the club. Also with Jason McAteer (former Liverpool legend :

) on the coachin staff, Godwin will definately learn somethin, even if it's only Jason McAteer's occupation is a right back

. A bit like Threllfall though, I think this is a chance to put Antwi in the shop window. I think Hobbs and probably San Jose are the next generation of centre halves at Liverpool, actin as cover for Agger and Skrtel, which will be Antwi sittin in the reserves until he's 23 or bein sold, I expect the latter. But good luck to him at Prenton Park.
I think Antwi's is only until January while the others are season long loans. We can all try and keep each other informed of any new loan deals and how the loanees are gettin on.
