First and most importantly a striker. We desperately need someone who can be relied on to put away a good percentage of the chances we are creating. I would like them to be fast as well, as I think we have suffered from a lack of pace up front this season.

A good Defensive Midfielder, not necessarily top class, although if we have the money..... why not! I think if Lucas can continue from where he left off we can manage with a decent backup, but obviously I would prefer top class if we can get one to bring more competition for places and to also allow Kenny more options on formations.

A top quality wide player, hopefully one that gets their fair share of goals and creates more than their fair share of chances. Again I would prefer the speedy option if possible.

Looking forward

I think we should be looking to the eventual replacement of Carra. Making a judgement on if and when Wisdom will be ready for the step up as to whether we look for another young star (similar to Jones last season) or not. I would run Carra's contract down before making any decision on his future.

Similarly I would look to see how far Morgan is away from making the step up before deciding if we should be looking to bring in a fourth striker or make do and mend in the short term until Morgan is ready.

Hopefully both Sterling and Suso will start to push hard for the odd game or a few minutes off the bench next season, but I wouldn't be expecting much more than that.

If we sell Kuyt and with Carra's eventual retirement I think we may need to look to strengthen the squad with a couple of versatile players. Jack of all trades, but hopefully masters of one.

He is mate, but you need 4 C/B's and so we should look to whether Wisdom will be ready once Carra steps down.

Maybe not "low cost" mate. but yeah not "ready made." I am hoping we are going to start paying a little more for our young stars and hopefully have a little more success than we have in the past.

According to tony evans last night he thinks we will have a budget of about 30million plus sales. Hardly breaking the bank with the meireles money and the sponsorship deals but anyway that is another story.   First as people would expect of me id sell both Adam and Carroll.  Think you ll get some English manager that will buy into the hype around Adam and maybe give us ten million for him someone like mcleish at villa. In regards to Carroll id sell for fifteen million i think he has being a disaster and will never be able to play the pass and move football we favour. In relation to Kuyt Cole and Aquilani think they will go and expect to get about fifteen million for the three of them. Id also off load Carragher if there was any takers. All in all that would give us about 70million. Id be then looking at players like martinez muniain remy m'vila hazard lavezzi Lucas rodigues. That is just off the top of my head top class young players. And please no signings this summer like jarvis sinclair or bent.

Up till very recently Im would have chucked Downing in the mix but the boy has has pulled off a couple of five star performances of late which merit him being kept.
Has Carroll reached the tipping point? Is he going to come good suddenly cos if he is the club is being very very patient with him.

If we buy mediocre players like that we'll go nowhere. We need to put our money on top class players, not four or five average players. I'd be happy to see a 25m striker and a 25m winger come in if that's all we can afford.  And by 25m winger I mean a top class winger, not a 10m winger like Downing massively overpriced.

Him and Affelay and I'd be fairly happy. Shouldn't break the bank either.

I'd go for Iker Muniain and blow the bank on Arjun Robben. We have a solid back line and need to break down teams. Can't see either of these happening but would make a serious impact on our chances of the league if we signed players of this caliber. Our back lines fine, we just need some finishers, and someone with that bit of something to get through a packed box when teams park the bus in front of us at home.

Robben is a top top player and an absolute grade A c**t too!

Never shouted at my tv so much during the time he played for Chelsea and that farcical incident with Reina at Stamford Bridge summed up his class, ie none.

I couldn't imagine Robben joining a club which didn't have Champs League football lined up for the following season.

Go get Hoilett to start with, he's going to be a big, big player wherever he goes this summer.

Maxi, Jones, Cole and Aquilani are all pretty certain to leave for a combined fee of (Free, Free, £5m, £6m) £11m without having too much of an impact on our current squad. Easily see Dirk being moved on as he is at the point where he'll still attract a decent fee, around £5m I believe rather than the £10m being touted around and fits into the moneyball strategy where we can see he's on the decline but it's not obvious yet so someone will take a punt on him. Would like to see Charlie moved on and Villa would be ideal for him, but something tells me we wont get shut after just a year, the same with Carroll, I'd get shut but I don't see it.

Downing seems to play well in the cup games but not in the league, still don't like him as a signing and have little confidence in him, again with Charlie and Carroll, can't see him being moved on after just a year as much as I'd like it.

As for incoming, then obvious a creative centre mid who can interchange with Gerrard and can play further advanced, desperate for a right winger and I believe this is where we should spend most getting a truly world class player and finally a quality mobile striker who can compliment Suarez. If Carroll or Kuyt leave then we'll need 2 strikers for sufficient cover.

Gylfi Sigurdson!!!! from Hoffenheim. He is at Swansea at the moment and is an amazing player and still only 22. Can pass and shoot with either foot just as effectively, more than useful on his head, has brilliant movement and forget Charlie Adam, this guy is a real free kick specialist. Would love him here, he is Gerrardesque.

Think at the back we are all good. Don't expect us to sign anyone in that area at all. If we have injuries cover can come into fill in, also remember Martin Kelly can play CB if needed.

Could also do with a wide right player if either or both of Maxi and Kuyt do go. Maxi looks certain to leave. Would love Iker Munian and I see Guillem Ballague is linking us with Christian Tello and he does look a talent that lad. If we want to break the bank though then Frank Ribery is one amazing player and I would love him at Liverpool. That isn't going to happen though!

Up top we have to try and sign a pacey front man who knows how to link up play and how to bury a chance to play off Suarez. Carroll just hasn't cut it and lack of finishing has cost us dearly this season in the league campaign. Suarez is not the clinical striker we crave either but his all round game is stunning and puts Andy to shame at times. A player like, dare I say it... Darren Bent!

No no no, not a player like Darren Bent, would be another Carroll type signing in my ipinion. Don't think Tello is a realistic option as for Ribery I don't actually like his attitude and couldn't see us signing him anyway.

Hazard, Munian, Cavani, Lavezzi, Martinez are the types of players we should be in for. Wouldn't go for Robben even though he's a class player, couldn't see him signing for us at the moment to be honest and would cost a silly fee.

A goal-scoring midfielder, a striker and a CDM with a good range of passing.
My choice:
Lavezzi- 15mil(or Hoilett, Munian)
De Jong or Higuain 15 or 26mil, Berbatov?? what do you think about this transfer?
M'Villa - 20mil (Keita would be also fine for me)

I cannot understand why the lads like Shelvey (those aged 18+yrs  )don't get first team pla., at least 2/3 games?

Looks amazing. Never seen this lad. Those goals remind me of a certain someone. If he can pass which I didn't see a deffo signing for me.
