you might not like him as an individual but to deny he is not even in the Top 10 is laughable.
He is behind Messi and Ronaldo and then there is a clear water between him and the rest.
Couldn't give a toss about him as an individual so it's not a case of liking or disliking him. A player that has been injured as much as he has in the last couple of years cannot be deemed as one of the top players in the world, he's hit good numbers in the French League but it's not exactly a hard league to be doing that in and he'd have less goals had he not thrown a strop and demanded to be on penalties. In the last 2 years do you really think he's been better than Messi, Ronaldo, Salah, Hazard, Virgil, Alisson, Mbappe, Aguero, Sterling, Suarez to name a few? Not a chance, if you think he's performed better than any of them then you need your head testing. If he was behind only Messi and Ronaldo as you say, then why is there no talk of him being a contender for the Balon d'Or?
I'm pretty sure Barcelona fans still miss MSN, winning the Champions League, that sort of thing.
Barca in the league with Neymar - 2nd 87 points, 1st 94 points, 1st 90 points, 2nd 90points.
Barca in the league since Neymar left - 1st 93 points, 1st 87 points.
Barca won the Champions League with Neymar once, in his second season, the other 3 seasons they didn't get past the QF.
Since his departure they have had the QF and SF so I wouldn't say they are all that desperate to get him back based on winning the Champions League with him once in 4 years. Barca have hardly felt the affects of losing him. But of course you are right, they will miss the days of winning it 1 time with MSN, just like they'd miss winning it more than once with Iniesta and Xavi. Just like any team would miss winning it, like we missed winning it with Gerrard. Do you think they'd still be missing winning it with MSN had they got the job done this year?....strange statement for you to be saying in all honesty.
If they wanted him back that badly they'd activate his release clause instead of going after Griezemann and keeping hold of Dembele.
Strange replies from you two though, I never denied he was a damn good player, just that I wouldn't have him in the top 10 right now and IMO doesn't match up to his hype, simple as that, didn't expect the sensitive replies as if he was one of our own.
Having talent is one thing, fulfilling it and living up to it on a consistent basis is completely different.
But anyway it's all irrelevant because he's never going to be a transfer option so I'm leaving this for a slow, rainy day so will move to the actual point of the topic - Shaqiri is more than likely out for the entirety of pre-season with a torn calf, would be lucky to be playing before the end of August IMO, wonder if this will alter our transfer plans with Mane potentially not being back for the start of the season either. No doubt Lallana will pick up an injury when pre-season steps up a gear too.
