Man Utd vs Liverpool, Premier League KO:13:30. 13th January. Pre-Match Build-Up
      Jan 07, 2013 12:18:16 pm
A tough game coming up on Sunday against United at Old Trafford.

      Recent Form:

We have been on fine form lately with 4 wins in our last five in all competitions:

      22th December 2012 - BPL - Home v Fulham - Won 4-0 - Skrtel (8), Gerrard (36), Downing (51), Suarez (90+2).
      26th December 2012 - BPL - Away v Stoke - Lost 3-1 - Gerrard pen (2).
      30th December 2012 - BPL - Away v QPR - Won 3-0 - Suarez (10, 16), Agger (28).
      2nd January 2013 - BPL - Home v Sunderland - Won 3-0 - Sterling (19), Suarez (26, 52).
      6th January 2013 - F.A Cup 3rd Round - Away v Mansfield - Won 2-1 - Sturridge (7), Suarez (59).

United have been on similar form with 3 wins and two draws from there last 5 in all competitions:

      23rd December 2012 - BPL - Away v Swansea - Draw 1-1 - Evra (16).
      26th December 2012 - BPL - Home v Newcastle - Won 4-3 - Evans (25), Evra (58), Van Persie (71), Hernandez (90).
      29th December 2012 - BPL - Home v West Brom - Won 2-0 - McAuley O.G (9), Van Persie (90).
      1st January 2013 - BPL - Away v Wigan - Won 4-0 - Hernandez (35, 63), Van Persie (43, 88).
      5th January 2013 - F.A Cup 3rd Round - Away v West Ham - Draw 2-2 - Cleverley (23), Van Persie (90+1)

      Possible Line-Ups:

Subs; Jones; Wisdom, Carragher, Robinson; Allen, Shelvey, Suso.

Subs; Lindegaard; Jones, Evans; Scholes, Giggs, Kagawa; Welbeck.

      The Game/Team News:

      Our last 5 v United:

      6th March 2011 - BPL - Home - Won 3-1 - Kuyt (34, 39, 65) - Hernandez (90+2).
      15th October 2011 - BPL - Home - Draw - 1-1 - Gerrard (68) - Hernandez (81).
      28th January 2011 - F.A Cup 4th Round - Home - Won 2-1 - Agger (21), Kuyt (88) - Park (39).
      11th February 2012 - BPL - Away - Lost 2-1 - Rooney (47, 50) - Suarez (80).
      23rd September 2012 - BPL - Home - Lost 2-1 - Gerrard (46) - Rafael (51), Van Persie pen (81).

We don't have any fresh injuries, Kelly being our only long term absentee. Fabio Borini should be returning to the squad soon (If I hear anything about his come back before the game I will update the post).

United have Rooney, Nani and Anderson injured for the game. This is good news for us as both Rooney and Nani have enjoyed playing against us in the past.

      Prediction

Looking at both teams recent form, and with home advantage, Man United look favourites to win the game. But, I think we can get something here.

I'm going for a 1-2 win with Suarez and Gerrard scoring for us, and Van Persie for them.

** Admin, apologies again for the pictures. Could you please email me how you insert them into the post. I would like the Man U - Liverpool badge one at the top. And the other two down in the "Possible Line-Ups" section. Thanks a lot.

I think there centre backs are slow and with Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling up front I would be very surprised if Vidic stays on the pitch (as per usual).
If we are to mount a decent challenge for top 4 this would be the perfect confidence booster and i think we will win 3-2.

This will be a difficult game for our mid field compared to last two games. They had lot of time on the ball to pick the pass in both games. Fergie would have noticed it i am sure he will make them press us higher the pitch. I hope BR will choose his tactic accordingly. I feel Hendo or Allen(who ever playing the AM sopt) will not have a comfortable game. This will be a tough test for both of them against a quality side. Defense should be tighter, they are scoring goals for fun. Suarez will take care of our goals:D

Are we going to wear the PURPLE MONSTROSITY for this one? I think it's the only kit that won't clash one bit.

well I'd love to beat these arse holes by 4 or 5 but realistically, even if we drew, I wouldn't be suicidal as it will at least be a measure of how far we have come with Brendan at the helm. Especially after a couple of dour performances from us, and also a few good performances, even though it was against weaker oposition. The following 4 matches will put things into perspective for me, but this one I think we are capable of pinching it by the odd goal. We may come under the hammer a bit last 10 or 15 mins, but thats to be expected at old toilet. thats when we break away to make it 2 - 1 to us.   Suarez, Van Persie, Sturridge.  You heard it here first . ;D :kop5cf8koxp6:

Hate these games and apart from the 4-1 mauling we gave them always struggle to enoy the OT encounters.

Often feel like my head is going to explode because of the tension. Victory would be a massive result for BR as we've struggled against the teams above us this season and what better way for the manager to respond to any critisism.

Dont care how, who or why...just f**king beat them Redmen!!

That's absolutely ridiculous. We'll have to be at our damn F***ing best to beat them AND the referee. Still, we'll win! I'm in defiant mood for this one. 2 - 3 for the reds!! Goals from Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling.

This is the biggest game of our season in my eyes. It's the one I look out for most. I hate them, I really do! I have tried to mellow my hatred for them over recent years but it hasn't worked.

I will be on an aeroplane Liverpool bound when the game is on. Call it poor planning on my behalf. I hope to get of the plane and see that we are in a good position.

Always watch this game at home - so I can go proper mental... It's what I pay the money to Sky for, simples!

I am not going to go on about motivation, desire, hunger and the such - the team know what this means to us as fans. It must mean the same to them - and for players like Gerrard and Carra (who may not feature but will be there) it is the big game! I used to worry about what foreign players would think - do they get the rivalry? Do they understand the passion and desire for these games? Well - the one we need to have all the above is Suarez... Will he be up for this game, hell's yeah!

Ol' Wiskey nose wont be around for ever - lets make sure his last game against LFC is a sound thrashing! Will it be this season he leaves - who knows... So lets not leave it to chance!

It will be tough, they are a good side - but we have a great team. Our midfield should dominate this - their key players will be knackered by 70 mins and that will leave us the chance to batter them.

I want to be watching, like a few years ago when Old Trafford was empty with 20 mins left...
