Let's not get carried away. We've only really delivered a vintage Liverpool performance in two or three games this season. Obviously I'm confident we keep it up now we've hit some form but we need to acknowledge the fact the midtable teams have strengthened and will therefore be tougher to beat. Arsenal and a couple of the other big boys have improved too so it won't be easy to amass lots of points in this tough run. Having said that, if we avoid injuries to key players such as Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho, Gerrard, Lucas and Mignolet throughout this run then we should gain a respectable number of points.
Arsenal V Liverpool ....Lose
Liverpool V Fulham .....Win
Everton V Liverpool .....Draw
Hull V Liverpool ..........Win
Liverpool V Norwich......Win
Liverpool V West Ham...Win
Tottenham V Liverpool...Draw
Liverpool V Cardiff........Win
Man City V Liverpool.....Draw
Chelsea V Liverpool.......Lose
That would be 18 points from a possible 30. Considering the difficulty of those away fixtures, that would be a good return and should keep us right in the mix beyond Christmas.
Arsenal game is super tough to predict, really could go either way but I just feel they'll have a little bit too much for us in those attacking midfield areas. We've bee vulnerable 'in the hole' this season, fortunately we have either come against below par no. 10s or played teams without one up to now. Ozil and Cazorla are extremely clever footballers who use the space superbly and I'm worried they'll take advantage of it to pull our shape all over the place. With SaS we definitely have a chance of a result there but I'm expecting a narrow loss. Fulham at home should be an absolute gimme. Everton have won five of their last six (lost at Man City) so to win there would be great, but I could accept a draw because they have a very good first team. Hard to predict much beyond that because we have no idea what form we or the other teams will be in and injuries may arise.
Really looking forward and nervous for those big away games in equal measure!
