      Pre-Match: Liverpool V Arsenal 12;45 Sat 8 Feb 2014

It has been very interesting scanning arsenal forums recently. There is a total conviction that they ll win this. We shall wait and see which Liverpool turns up but Rodgers has proved a good few things this year.

He has been very adaptable, has won against 'big teams' and we have wiped the floor with some of our rivals. He has previous against wenger beating him handsomely as a Swansea manager.

We should have won at the emirates last year when Hendo had a great game. For this we'll be boosted by the injuries arsenal have in midfield with no Ramsey, Walcott and Wilshere being doubtful.

SaSaS need to be at their best against a well drilled defence. But no reason why previous victories orchestrated by the likes of Suarez, Torres and Luis Garcia can't be repeated.

Let's go for it. I expect Allen to come in for this one. 2-1 to us.

We have to be positive. Arsenal will give you chances that's why I am opting for the 1 1 9 to get numbers in the box.
Obviously fingers crossed and hope we get a result.

Thank F**k Walcott isn't playing. Can you imagine him going at Sissokho. The thought alone frightens me to death. As for everything else, as said earlier, it depends which Liverpool team turns up, but I would expect us to go for this big time being the home team.
In a nut shell, I think it will come down to who manages best to cover their injuries. They seem to be plodding on reasonably well, where we seem to go from the sublime to the ridiculous. Hard one to call, but my heart says 2.0 the red men.

Forgot to add, Brendan, please don't get too complicated with your tactics, just play to our strengths and let them worry about us.

Arse fans thinking they can beat us.

Suarez & Sturridge & Sterling going to tear apart their defense.

Hope we hammer them to put a dent in their title prospects.

      2-1 (Sturridge x2, Carzola)

Rodgers is gonna experiment with set-ups again, deploy some strange strategy, do something really stupid. I know it. We'll lose 0-2. Sorry lads.

Just can't see us getting beat at home, not by the Arse anyway.

Game reeks of a draw although I reckon we will win 2-1 but if it's a draw I wouldn't be surprised.

Crucial game this for us in my opinion it will define our true capabillities win and stay in touch with the three above us draw or lose and we are in a straight battle with Neverton, Scum and Spurs for fourth only. We have struggled against them in recent seasons and on occasions we had the better of them (winning 2-0 at Emirates) we allowed them back in to the game. Could be a high scoring classic this one.

Never mind the score hoping the lads will turn up and BR will get it spot on with his tactics and selection nothing but 3 points here!

       :lmao:

      I'd like to see:

      --------------------- Mig

      ----- Kelly      Toure      Skertel      Flanno

                                Gerrard

                          Allen        Hendo

                 Sterling      Sturridge     Suarez

Bit risky throwing Allen in I know but it's a risk I'd be willing to take. This lad needs t settle and play more, he and Henderson did a really good job against Spurs and it would be nice to see him play like that here. He'll either stink the joint out or will be worthy of his place in the side - I'm hoping it will be the later. But in all honesty I don't see Rodgers dropping Coutinho for this one anyway. I can't believe Kelly can't get a start ahead of Cissoko, that's left me baffled.

      I think we'll sneak this one 2-1.

One thing I know for sure we need to go out with a better mental attitude than we showed at West Brom.
I think we'll win this, provided we go at them from the off. Too many slow starts lately.

We need to go for the win, these draws will kill us....we need to aim for 1st and see where we finish rather than cling onto 4th....we can't seem to ever hold a lead, so we won't hold onto 4th without going for it.
F**k it - a draw is no good....

I would take a 7-0 win if offered.

We need the result in this one, doesn't matter how we play.

I'd be happy with a similar performance as we had against Man Utd at home, as long as we get the 3 points. Let's not go out to try and out play Arsenal, let's just get in their faces and beat them.

High tempo from the first minute. No standing off admiring their passing. Smash them.

Tempted to start Allen ahead of Coutinho. Stevie should be up for it to deal with Ozil's through balls, we have to remember Giroud doesn't create, he needs supply. That being said, we could take a leaf out of West Brom in terms of pressing the opposition.

A slight tweak which I would like to see in a 4-2-3-1, would be to start Sterling on the left and Hendo on the right, with Suarez behind Sturridge. Luis can not only link play between midfield and attack but also can keep Arteta busy. Hendo & Sterling to help our full backs deal with Cazorla & Podolski, Stevie and Allen up against Oxlade-C & Ozil

      Migs

      Kelly - Skrtel - Toure - Flanno
      Allen - Stevie
      Hendo - Suarez - Sterling
      Sturridge

      I'm going for a 2-1, although mind says a 1-1 draw

Big test for our lads. The reverse fixture resulted in our midfield getting destroyed and will be a good comparison for those who believe we're currently better with Gerrard in the side as a DM.

The counter-attacking style we've adopted of late could well work in our favour in this one, but only if we can withstand the pressure. Not sure we'll be up to the task but if we come out with the mentality we had against Everton then yes we can win, come out with the mentality we had against WBA and they'll leave with the points.

One thing is for sure there'll be much more than just Liverpool fans shouting us on for this one and while I think we're well and truly out of the race, if we want to maintain an outside chance we have to be getting the points, lose and a dogfight for 4th is all that's left up for grabs.

Spuds vs Everton the day after this, so one team chasing us (if not both) will lose points.

A win against this shower will be HUGE for out top 4 hopes.
