id have to say stevie g just for the fact of how many really crucial ones hes had to take he seems to enjoy taking them and remains calm but then again i could say molby too i dont think he ever missed one in his time at anfield

Jan Molby is the best I've ever seen although Gerrard knows how to bury them under pressure.

Don't really see the point in discussing the takers for CL Final seeing as we haven't even made the Semi's yet but i will humour you on this occasion

Got to be Gerrard first, he scores them all so may as well get a guaranteed 1st. However wouldn't be bothered if Kuyt went 1st but Gerrard 3rd? Never as we don't know what Riera is like on them.

I think it is good though how we have at least 3/4 great penalty takers, notably Gerrard, Alonso and Kuyt. I'm not sure whether I've seen Aurelio take one but I can imagine him being a decent spot kick taker.

For me 1/ Alonso 2/ Torres 3/Kuyt 4/Aurelio 5/Gerrard 6/Riera 7/ Carragher 8/Babel 9/ Mascherano , and then whatever, let's get through first though hey boys!

Just for kicks i'd say; Alonso, Dirk, Stevie, Fernando and Fabio. Not in any particular order.

Right now I would say Gerrard....he is fearless, or so it seems.

The problem with penalty takers is that they can be great for a long while but if they miss one or two the bubble bursts and they can quickly become rubbish.

I know most here won't know of, remember or care about the following....but...back in the day, Swansea City had a midfielder called Geoff Thomas who was nearly signed by Man Utd at one time apparently...he went several years without missing a penalty then, as I mentioned above, he started missing more than he scored before he finally stopped taking them. Then we had Robbie James who had a thunderbolt shot and went on a long run of rarely missing before also, I think anyway, starting missing.

So it went with Francis Lee at Man City who hammered about 12 penalties in one season...his technique was to hit it so hard the keeper just couldn't get to it if it was even a yard wide of him.....but I think the bubble burst with him too.

OK....sorry...that was a ramble that didn't contribute much....just reminiscing I guess....
Wasn't Jan Molby pretty bullet-proof on penalties for a long time....Phil Neal also?

I think Torres would defiantly take a penalty for me, he did take them when he was at Athletico, and I trust him alot more than dossena.

So my list would be:

5. Gerrard

Gerrard going last because if it was a penalty that we had to score to either win or stay in the shoot out then I think he would be able to deal with the pressure the best out of them all. But then if 2 of the penalty takers before miss Gerrard may not have a penalty to take, so it depends if he should go last or not. In istanbul we didn't need him so lets hope if it does go to penalties again then we wont need him again because the other 4 boys will have done their job.
