Liverpool 3-0 Man City: In game and Post Match buzzing

Quality seeing such a contrast of MOTM candidates... says it all!

Well it comes down to two players for me. Spearing or Kuyt. It was a toss up and I went for Jay. Wonderful performance by the little man who slaughtered Toure who was like twice the height of him! Never missed an opportunity in the midfield.

And Kuyt was wonderful. Scored, tackled and was just utterly hellish for the Man City defence with all his running. A fantastic performance by Dirk. Best of the season for him.

wouldn't it be just amazing if we could play like that for the next six games and get all 18 points.

Oh but hang on, Roy said no one could possibly come in and do better, so we better be happy with where we are now!!

Whooooo hoooo much better than I expected, although Citeh were much much worse than I expected. If we had taken our chances we could have had 5 or 6 tonight. Happy with 3-0 though. Infact very happy with 3-0  

I'd give them all MOTM if it was a choice.  Fantastic team performance, completely dominated the entire game.  Woohoo!

I gave it to Kuyt. Work rate second to none and kept the playing going throughout the match. A goal well deserved.

Gave Spearing MOTM - thought he was outstanding and totally outshone Lucas in midfield.

Dirk Kuyt was a close second, he was all over the pitch and even though he lost the ball a few times I'd say he touched the ball more times and covered more grass than anyone on the pitch.

And of course, Andy Carroll worked his socks off and got two great goals.  Special mention to Flanagan too who was rock solid and looked like he's been in the team for years.

All round great performance and made City look really, really ordinary.  Wish we would dominate more like that away from home though.

Nice to see we all have differing opinions on MOTM and all of the viewpoints are valid.

A good night indeed.

For the betting people and the superstitious;

Liverpool's last 3 Monday night games have all been 3-0 home wins. We beat West Ham, lost at City and beat Villa 3-0.

I called it 3-0 home win

What a fantastic game, brilliant perfomance from the whole team, can't fault anyone at all. Trying to spilt motm between Carroll, Flanagan, Spearing, Lucas and Kuyt.

I must confess looking at the two lineups I'm about as unhopeful as I've been for a home game in a long time. Given the team we've got out and our situation, City really ought to be on the hunt for all three points.

 I'd take a point as of now all day long.

Great match by the entire team, gave my motm to Suarez; Every time he touches the ball he is a threat and puts the defenders back on they're heels. Looks to be working well with Kuyt and Caroll, and I think we have a lot in store for us the next 5 years.

I'm actually confident for this game, think we'll win 2 or 3 nil.

Great performance and result. Carroll is starting to show what he can do, much better match, controlled the ball well, won loads of balls in the air and took his two goals really well. Gotta give him the MOTM. But a real team effort, everyone was biting in, didn't give shitty and inch. They've got some talented footballers but they didn't look a very united bunch.
And what about Kenny. Don't want to upset the Rafa fans, but it's great to see him hoping around with the rest of us when we score Passion and emotion on his slieve. And the little word with Carroll and pat on the back when he comes off, the guy has class to burn. With the King as Manager next year, I think we can realll start turning things around proper.

I went for Kuyt, he was everywhere and kept us going forward.  But so many to choose from.  Everyone helped the team boss it.  And to the young lad at right back - well done lad, brilliant!!

I just can't get enough!!!

Although Spearing was brilliant, had to give it to Carroll. To see him get 2 goals just brightened my day up. Great to see him on the score sheet. In truth, Spearing probably deserved it but, when you spend so much money on a player, you want them to deliver and Carroll certainly did.

One thing I got to say - how does Ray Wilkins get these commentating jobs?  He talks absolute nonsense.

The best bit was ''if you're going to miss, do it high and wide......so you can get back in position''!  My brother and I just looked at each other!
