Why misquote for your own purposes?

I did not misquote you - I simply quoted you. If the part I selected sounds silly is because it is. Not my fault though.

No. "Successful" for us has to include winning trophies. That's what I want and that has to be the spending, development, planning and goal-setting priority for the owners and manager.

We're not going to win the league this year. Two months ago many of us, including me, thought we had a true opportunity to do that. That we won't is disappointing for all of us. Hugely, can't sleep, having trouble being happy about other things that I should be happy about - disappointing. But that doesn't mean there is nothing left to play for.

You can argue the idea of expanding the CL to non-champions back whenever it was they started doing that - but it's fact and it was fact in 2005 and the memory of winning that trophy (success) is a great one for most of us. Nothing taints that. I suspect you also took great joy in winning that. Didn't you?

So your thoughts on which trophy is preferred, that is entirely your privilege (and I agree btw, that at this point, winning the league would mean more because of how long it has been), but someone thinking that it is important for us to qualify for Europe doesn't make that person something other than a real fan. 

In fact there is a good bit of that on here - you're not a "real fan" if you think X or don't think Y, if you're not Scouse, or not from UK or if you're from America or if you really fell in love with the club when you walked into Anfield for the first time in 1998 (that's me) or you want to qualify for Europe for next season or whatever the arbitrary qualifier is. I'm in a country now where there's a huge rise in this "think like THIS or you're somehow not legitimate" kind of mentality and I hate it as much as I hated that kind of peer pressure back in school days. It's great to discuss and debate and even argue about points - but people with differing viewpoints on how the club can get back to where it should be - don't need to be enemies.

It's 3rd loser, but with the chance to play in the Champion's League the following year where you have a chance to win hardware. Honestly don't see why you are being so obtuse about it. So you only want us to be  in the Champion's League if we win  the league?

Return the competition to its original format. I would rather see that than what it has become, regardless of whether we qualify.

Perhaps at the same time, teams may put in that extra 10% needed to win the league to enter the CL. That's how I personally see it, but you're free to your own opinion as is everyone else...

Bum knee and two bum shoulders here, but as far as the puncher goes - think a cross between a Ninja and a Jaguar (and I don't mean the car). I'm telling you  man, I've got no chance!

I would assume we would strengthen before next year.

Getting into the CL would expand the pool of top players we can attract. Like it or not, it's still a big deal for many top players nowadays.
To me it's simple as that. Failing to qualify for the CL for yet another year could really hamper our progress and we might even lose the likes of Coutinho.
Another option is to pay stupid amount of money like how the Scums have done the past few years. But knowing our owners I won't hold my breath.

Same here. Not sure it really involves LFC at all. It's almost like a media outlet might have placed a misleading headline on the Internet. Imagine that!

I'm really not sure why everyone thinks Can will be sold.

He's a good young player going through a bad spell, like all young players do.
Granted, he needs to pick up and kick on next season, but those saying he is an automatic sale are wide of the mark imo.
