Klavan seems like he's going to make that LCB spot his.

He really does look very confident, doesn't he?

Quick off the mark with the ball at his feet, good passing and positioning and a lot quicker than you'd think. Really starting to like him, haven't seen him put a foot wrong so far. At this rate, both Sakho and Matip will struggle to get in the team, that can only be a good thing.

      Quality finish by Origi too!

Firmino is dead good at doing that 'being in the right place' thing.

      It's a surprisingly rare trait.

Wasn't offside by Origi, got robbed of a goal there, was a great finish again!

Firmino with another goal. Love him or don't, but he knows how to find the back of the net! Loved the celebration at the end of it too! :D

Spot on mate, at some point coincidence can no longer be the realistic reason behind it can it?

I don't mind this as a slight against any of our current strikers, but Firmino has more of a poachers instinct than any of them. He lacks speed and power though. From deeper Firmino picks up spaces that no one else in the squad finds.

By the way, where is Ings?

Markovic twice where simple passes would have created great chances, shocking that.

No idea where Ings is tonight KS67 but I do think Sturridge has a real battle on his hands to start.

This might sound harsh but I don't want any more of our pre-season time wasted on Markovic.

Yeah, I kind of had a soft spot for him under Rodgers.

Felt he was harshly treated and wanted him recalled in January. But alarms started to sound for me when he didn't really do as well in Turkey as I expected. I assumed he would be in the top attacking players in that league and put in a good season.

But I'm not really sure what he actually does. Bit of a disappointment as I got quite excited for him signing originally.

Thought we had a dodgy spell early in the second half, but other than that we were easily the better side. Origi goal basically killed the game.

Very pleased with our overall performance tonight. More clinical and we could have had 4 or 5 easily.

Very encouraging that in my opinion. Had we won that 4 or 5 nil I don't think it would be a flattering scoreline.

Massive positives in Klavan, Origi and Mane.

Biggest negatives for me were Markovic and Coutinho. Perhaps pre-season just doesn't offer enough of an edge for Cou but you're not feeling that sparkle about the lad when he gets on the ball.
