FWIW Ornstein is a sh*t-stirrer and I can't remember the last time he was actually the first to report something that actually happened.
That said, this sort of news doesn't surprise me. Outside of being one of the richest clubs in the world, we are apparently always broke.
I stopped looking at Bellingham news. We have been and will continue to be told something and then its opposite a week later until this player finally transfers somewhere. It's too good of a clicks generator for all those ''transfer gurus'' and the accounts that make a living off of retweeting those transfer gurus.
Since the start of the season or so, I can't remember a week where we haven't got Bellingham news and I can't remember a single week where it wasn't absolutely useless info and not the exact opposite of what was said the week before about the transfer.
I'm not saying we're going to get him, but I think people need to give it a rest. I won't even open twitter because the meltdown over there must be of gargantuan proportions
Edit: I will say however that the club needs to try and get him. They have been part of what I described above with lots of the journos that get there info directly from the club saying many times that we are putting stuff on hold for Bellingham. If this all turns out to have been a waste of everyone's time and we just back away from it because, surprise, it's gonna cost a lot of money then they will face a sh*t storm and a deserved one at that.
