Agreed, Alonso is suspended now tho, so who do we play?
just play gerard in the centre and play kuyt up front and benny from the start..
benny is proving me wrong, i really had no time for him up until this week.. good during the week and changed the game when he came on today in my opinion

instead of lucas hopefully rafa puts gerrard back in midfield to cover xabi loss and plays either kuyt or keane up front with benyoun on the right side, just no lucas

Haha, his skills in the one save he made were amazing!!

MOTD for me was Skipper again.... perhaps with either Aurelio or Arbeloa there with Torres.

That backline today has to be this for rest of season but for injuries alone.

I thought Carra was outstanding today and as always Kuyt worked his socks off. Delighted to see Rafa going for the kill as well, taking off Masch for Babel. I made a point during the week in the " Are we still contenders" thread saying a win here would be more then 3 points it would give fans and players a huge lift for the rest of the season. No need to comment on Torres or Stevie

Get the cup game outta the way beat pompey and have the mancs playing catch up going to a bogey ground for them!!

I think Kuyt wasnt great distribution wise, still better up top.

I've just realised how awesome we're gonna be in the next Fifa 09 update, sad I know, but happy days.

Also kudos on Torres' celebration for the first goal, anybody got footage where he does the 'genie' thing? ;D

Arbeloa was boss today. As was Masch and Xabi in the centre of the park.

Do you reckon Reina even broke a sweat?

      Genious :f_whistle:

Was a great performance and without doubt deserved the win. Bosingwa should have been sent off though!

We could well have gotten a 3rd goal when we were breaking 3 against 2 and the ball had just been played to babel who would have been through on goal but no the ref blows the whistle :D

A very good performance today, making Chelsea look like a very average team. I don't think any team has dominated them like this in a long time.

I have to admit I was having a bad feeling that we were going to draw but the joy of watching Torres score was well worth the wait.

It's also interesting that this performance which is our best for a while came with what most would consider our strongest team and best formation.

Can't wait to get the cup game done and dusted and on to the next league win!!

Have just finished reading the the thread and have several points to raise/comment on !
firstly who is this Pass-and-Move guy ?  comes on here slagging off Rafa one game and then jumping on the victory bandwagon the next :f_steam:, and as for him showing a lack of respect for Crouchino calling him kid, 16 he may be but Crouchino knows more about football than I've learned in 47 yrs !  :)
Big Phil makes a refreshing change to ther likes of red nose, Arse and maureen, he comes out pre match saying its an all or nothing game, admits to been beaten by the better team and stands shoulder to shoulder with Rafa on comments he made about Fergie !

Getting back to the game this was the Best game I've watched them play all season, El Nino back to scoring form but still not 100% ! , Gerrard was A1 but lucky to stay on after his little "dive" !, Lampard was unfortunate but Boswinga should have followed him !
we need the same team out on wednesday night barring any injuries or suspensions, the commitment was there today, something that's been missing in recent games !.
      Bring on the Bitters !
This is the beginning of the end of our quest for no 19 !

Xabi's suspension will be for the 5th round of the cup or the nearest league game if for some reason we don't make the 5th round.

Hmmm, did they not see the incident where Bosingwa should have been sent off but in fact didn't even get a yellow.

They're hurting because nobody's done the double on them in a while.

And yeah, we have the Refs in our pockets. Oh that reminds me, Alan Wiley needs feeding.
